Course Contents:

Introduction of Manual UT, Phased Array UT and TOFD technique, In-depth knowledge of AUT systems and relevant software, AUT inspection principle, Zonal discrimination concept, calibration requirements, Screen layout, Data acquisition Typical weld defects in automated welding, Interpretation of AUT results, Defect sizing, Over-trace concept, Operator checklist, POD, ECA, Acceptance criteria, Reporting and Applicable code and standards, AUT procedure validation, AUT personnel qualification, and AUT audits. Number of welds scanned data for practical exercises (interpretation, analysis, and reporting)

This 80-hour course exceeds the instruction outline and criteria specified in the ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189.

Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) Data interpretation theory and practical exercise classes will be organized online.

Course Objectives:

• To verify calibration and set up AUT equipment
• To analysis the scan AUT data for location and size of defects in typically welded joints
• To accurately report weld condition
• To analyse scan data for location and size of defects in typically welded butt joints.

• To interpret and evaluate the test result as per international applicable codes & standards
