Eddy Current Testing (ECT) – Welds Level II – Welds Training and Certification
ASNT ET Level II Course Training and certification fee is $400
Course Contents: This course focuses on the theory and principles of eddy current testing, eddy current generation, factors affecting eddy current testing, direction, and distribution of Eddy current in the article, eddy current Equipment requirements, eddy current method, discontinuity testing, eddy current method control and test system development, interpretation of the signal, defect sizing.
This 80-hour course exceeds the instruction outline and criteria specified in the ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, and ASNT Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel (ANSI/ASNT CP-105).
Eddy Current Testing theory classes will be organized through online and/or offline and hand-on practical sections will be arranged nearest feasible NDT test center.
Course Objectives: The course objectives are as below:
- To explain the principles of Eddy Current Testing
- To calibrate equipment with respect to suitable probes and its frequency
- To detect cracks, surface, and near-surface, in aircraft components, structures, tubes, and welds
- To detect corrosion and thinning in non-magnetic materials
- To grade and sort materials on the basis of conductivity and permeability
- To write clear and concise inspection instructions and test reports
- To identify the suitability of ET for the material and inspection techniques
- To select the correct type of probe to examine welded butt joints in steel plate, pipe, and aerospace components/structures
- To report on the location and size of defects in typically welded joints
- To interpret and evaluate the test result as per international applicable codes & standards
