RT Level II Training and Certification
ASNT RT Level II Course Training and certification fee is $300.
Course Contents: This course focuses on the theory and principles of radiation and their application to radiography. Subjects included in this course include an introduction to Industrial Radiography Testing – Radiation Sources – Properties and production of X and gamma rays – X and gamma-ray equipment – Radiographic techniques – Radiographic film, type of films – film selection – film processing – radiographic image quality – factors controlling contrast and definition – Film Characteristics – use of screens and filters – Geometric unsharpness – Sensitivity – IQI’s – Application to Radiography Radiation Safety – ionizing radiation hazards – regulations – Identification of weld defects and their components; viewing conditions, identification of radiographs; spurious indications and film artifacts; appreciation of radiographic principles and parameters of interpretation; standards for radiographic practice; acceptance criteria – codes and standards, procedures, and written practices- reporting – welding processes and weld defects
This 80-hour course exceeds the instruction outline and criteria specified in the ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, and ASNT Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel (ANSI/ASNT CP-105).
Radiographic Testing theory classes will be organized through online and/or offline and a hands-on practical section will be arranged to the nearest feasible NDT test center.
Course Objectives: The course objectives are as below:
- To explain the basic theory of X – and gamma radiography
- To identify the suitability of the RT technique for the given materials
- To select film type and energy levels, select and prepare techniques for a given specimen
- To state the theory of film processing and carry out practical dark-room work
- To develop the RT work instruction that can be followed by a Level I operator/Radiographic Assistants
- To interpret and analyse the test result and generate the test result.
- To recognize film faults
- To be familiar with codes, standards, and specifications for RT to evaluate the results of the tests
- To aware of the working knowledge of basic radiation safety
